It's an official redesigned vehicle type led by BAE following the acquisition of South African company Land Systems OMC. Unlike previous models, the RG-33L not only inherits the classic V-HULL design concept of the Mamba armored personnel carrier but also undergoes targeted redesign based on new armed threat patterns encountered by the US military in Iraq. It's produced entirely in domestic US factories, tailored to meet the needs of the US military.

The driver's cabin can hold 2, and the passenger cabin can accommodate 8. It features functional steering and a simulated transmission system. The rear door, side door, and roof hatch can all be opened, making it a hard-shell dual V-hull armored vehicle.
