  • 🏰Background Information: This Castle, formerly the headquarters of the Teutonic Knights in Germany built in 1276 and is composed of three brick structures. As the first national monument during the rule of the German Empire. Along with the Knights Templar and the Hospitaller Order, it is known as one of the three major knightly orders. It was founded in 1190 in Acre, the Kingdom of Jerusalem, with the aim of assisting Christians in making pilgrimages to the Holy Land and establishing hospitals there. Members of the order are usually referred to as Teutonic Knights. The current motto of the Teutonic Knights is Help, Defend, Heal.
