Vegas - BattleBot Building Review Designed By TechnicalitiesbyKK
Having just finished building LesDIY's Vegas, the blogger immediately learned a few things, like the quality of the molds and the plastic on the bricks, they are all different and some things really surprised him, the clutch is really good and it connects, it went in really well and it felt like it connected really well, the other parts were a little different so some parts were really soft and easy to get in and had a lot of movement and other parts were molded and were actually a little off, and he actually had the axles snap into place, so overall it was really good but definitely not the consistency he was used to from Lego for example, so he gave it a C+ for quality, and as you can see, the other part was missing. The thing is the green panel at the top, unfortunately he looked everywhere and it wasn't in the box so he actually had to get out his stash and finish it in grey, it doesn't look that good As a green one he will be able to contact the LesDIY team and install those panels to make the robot look brand new.
For quality he gave the instructions a B+ so for the most part they were very easy to follow, there were only one or two parts where he was a little confused and had to go over them again to make them look more visually appealing but on the whole, it's been a long time since he built it following the instructions so he gave it a B+ overall. He thinks it has been overdone by the builder and that he is focusing on it in some community groups The designer of Lego Robot Combat contacted him to review it and he was more than happy to do so, the build quality and design is great, he loves incorporating technology into the builds, for example weapons are a very common technology and I have seen him on a lot of models there is a clutch gear, he can't see it but there is a clutch mechanism that prevents the motor from burning out or having problems, it seems pretty solid because of the knocks he thinks I have dropped it a few times, on the whole there is no problem, the builder used a lot of frames, the designer added a lot of frames during the build process, he thought it was a very good idea, it made it easier, it also made it lighter and easier, that is always good.
Overall the layout design is Vagas style which he really likes and the subtle details of the little roulette wheel really fits the theme so he thinks it's a really cool design choice and that's always the case, it's always cool to have a robot with a theme behind it and yeah I'm impressed with the design, he thinks it's an A-minus for the grade and of course the rest we'll just have to wait and see how it does in battle but overall the design is really good and he's really excited to see what happens next in the design menu is the engine which he wanted to introduce. It works very similarly to the Lego replica so you have an XL motor then two big motors and an old buggy motor and it is also powered by the MLE King hub This is a 4.0 smart hub and his only real criticism is that the electronics look good and don't stand out with the Lego parts The King controller was a bit limiting, he didn't see any way to change the weapon so you would just leave the weapon permanently on and that would be a very nice feature.
Unfortunately they are limited by Ming Electronics who thought you could also use the app provided by Ming It is still missing some features he wanted namely the switching options and other things but you could easily swap it out for a Lego hub or a bus hub if you wanted there are plenty of aftermarket options If you are not particularly happy with the Muling electronics then overall B- other than the Muling A feature which the controller and app lacked he thought it was a really cool system. The motors have been reliable so far but he'll see how they fare in a fight, seriously three two in one shot why don't you do that so there's not a lot of damage done to Vegas and of course the wheel, it ended up coming loose and he found out that these parts inside the gun go through easily so normally this little part just goes in and comes through unhindered during gameplay but other than it being St it's holding up pretty well you can't see anything really cracked or broken on it I give it a lot of credit for the Quality, it's better made than he expected, it actually did a great job when he got his hands on it in combat.
