Background: The Hogwarts Express is the name of the train that runs between Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station in London and Hogsmeade Station. The train operates frequently, especially on September 1st before the start of term and in June at the end of term, faithfully transporting students of all years to and from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It runs at the beginning and end of each term and is the school's primary mode of transport. The train departs from Platform 9¾ at 11:00 AM on September 1st each year and arrives at Hogsmeade Station in the evening. Some students take the train back to King's Cross Station to go home for the Christmas and Easter holidays.
In real life, this 7/8-inch wide-gauge cable car, a passenger shuttle, is also a popular attraction at Universal Studios Florida Resort in Orlando. The line is 676 meters (2218 feet) long and connects the Island of Adventure-themed Hogsmeade Station to King's Cross Station in Universal's London area. Connecting Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, the Hogwarts Express began trial operations on July 1, 2014, and officially opened seven days later along with the Diagon Alley extension. The service was an instant hit, carrying one million passengers within a month of its launch.
