Designed and authorized by Nico71, this 2,064-piece model combines an imposing race-truck body with a highly detailed drivetrain featuring an 8-speed sequential gearbox, Drive/Neutral/Reverse selector, working steering, suspension, and a tilting cab.

The finished model measures approximately 50 cm long and weighs around 2 kg, giving it a substantial presence while leaving many of its mechanical systems accessible for inspection and interaction.

8-Speed Sequential Gearbox

At the center of the chassis is an advanced 8-speed sequential transmission combined with a dedicated Drive, Neutral, and Reverse selector. Reinforced gearing and revised bracing help reduce friction throughout the mechanism.

Dual Gearbox Controls

The transmission can be controlled from both the center of the chassis and inside the cab. Mechanical linkages connect the two sets of controls so that each selector operates the same internal gearbox functions.

Color-Coded Shift Indicators

Red and yellow markings make the controls easier to understand at a glance: one side indicates Drive and Reverse, while the other identifies upshifts and downshifts.

Working Steering with HOG Control

Rack-and-pinion steering is connected to the steering wheel as well as a convenient Hand-of-God control positioned on the chassis. A quick-disconnect mechanism allows the steering linkage to separate when the cab is tilted forward.

Front & Rear Suspension

The front uses double-wishbone suspension with twin shock absorbers on each side to support the heavier cab, while the rear uses a rigid axle with angled shock absorbers.

Tilting Cab

The entire cab can tilt forward, revealing the engine and internal linkage mechanisms beneath and providing a clear view of how the truck’s mechanical systems work together.

Opening Body Panels

The doors can be opened to reveal the detailed cabin, while additional rear access panels expose the gearbox and sequential shifting mechanism inside the chassis.

Nico71 created MOC-88792 as a race-truck interpretation focused heavily on mechanical visibility and interaction. The design combines an 8-speed sequential gearbox with D/N/R selection, duplicated cabin and chassis controls, suspension, steering, and a tilting cab.

Special attention was given to making the gearbox easier to understand, including visible control linkages and color-coded indicators that show the direction and shifting functions.
