Recreate one of the most recognizable vehicles from the Halo universe with the MOC-166891 + MOC-172968 Halo Warthog M12B RC Armored Off-Road Vehicle & Motorized Turret Building Blocks. Designed and authorized by Nico71, this 1,812-piece combination model pairs the M12B Scout-style Warthog chassis with a motorized rear turret, transforming the vehicle into the classic armed LRV configuration.
Built at approximately 1:10–1:12 scale, the model combines a functional 4×4 drivetrain, lockable differentials, four-wheel steering, independent suspension, and a motorized turret into one highly mechanical RC vehicle.
4×4 Twin-Motor Drivetrain
Two XL motors power the four-wheel-drive system through differentials, giving the vehicle a robust drivetrain suited to off-road RC operation.
Motorized Locking Differentials
An M motor operates a linkage mechanism that can lock the differentials, adding another layer of drivetrain control and mechanical realism.
Four-Wheel Steering
Both front and rear axles are steered by a servo motor, helping the large vehicle maneuver more effectively while recreating the unusual steering layout of the Warthog.
Independent Double-Wishbone Suspension
Each wheel uses double-wishbone suspension, giving all four corners independent movement and helping the chassis adapt to uneven terrain.
Motorized Rear Turret
The included MOC-172968 M41 turret module replaces the Scout-version rear bed and adds a motorized weapon station to the vehicle.
A single M motor drives the turret mechanism, creating rotating machine-gun motion and oscillating turret movement, while the gun assembly can also be manually adjusted for inclination.
Opening Engine & Battery Covers
The engine cover and battery-access panel can be opened, providing easier access to the internal components while adding interactive detail to the finished model.
From the Designer
Nico71 originally created his interpretation of the Halo Warthog in 2017 as a fan of the franchise. The later MOC-166891 M12B Scout Version refined the vehicle with updated instructions, 4×4 drive, differential locking, four-wheel steering, and fully independent suspension.
After repeated requests from builders, Nico71 later revisited the rear weapon system and developed MOC-172968, allowing the Scout configuration to be converted into the more familiar LRV-style Warthog with a motorized M41 turret. The turret mechanism was reworked to reduce vibration while retaining its compact single-motor design.
A Functional Halo-Inspired RC Display
With 1,812 pieces, four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, lockable differentials, independent suspension, and a motorized rear turret, this model combines sci-fi vehicle styling with advanced mechanical engineering for Halo fans, RC builders, and collectors of functional off-road models.
