Designed and authorized by bru_bri_mocs, this 4,034-piece model brings the futuristic American supersonic transport concept to life with variable-sweep wings, retractable landing gear, a drooping nose, and an intricate internal gear system.

Developed during the U.S. supersonic transport program of the 1960s, the B2707 was envisioned as a larger and faster passenger aircraft than its contemporary SST rivals. This approximately 1:80 scale model recreates the distinctive -200 configuration while transforming its most ambitious engineering ideas into functional mechanical features.

An Ambitious American Supersonic Airliner

The B2707 was conceived as a high-capacity passenger aircraft capable of carrying around 300 passengers at approximately Mach 2.7, making it one of the boldest commercial aviation concepts of its era.

Designed from Original Aircraft Drawings

The designer used a scanned original B2707 drawing as a reference during development, helping reproduce the fuselage proportions, wing geometry, and distinctive overall profile of the aircraft.

Working Variable-Sweep Wings

The model recreates one of the most fascinating features of the B2707-200: its variable-geometry wings. An internal mechanical system allows the wings to transition between swept-back high-speed flight and an extended landing configuration.

Synchronized Mechanical Transformation

A hand-operated crank connects several major functions through the internal gear system. As the mechanism is operated, the wings move, the nose changes position, and the landing gear deploys or retracts, transforming the aircraft between supersonic cruise and landing configurations.

Functional Drooping Nose

The nose can lower for the landing configuration and rise again for cruise, recreating an important feature intended to improve pilot visibility during lower-speed operations.

Retractable Landing Gear

The landing gear is integrated into the synchronized drivetrain and can be extended or retracted through the internal mechanism rather than simply adjusted by hand.

Adjustable Flight Control Surfaces

Leading-edge surfaces, wing flaps, elevators, and the rudder can also be manually adjusted, giving the model additional mechanical detail and multiple display configurations.

Display Stand & Sticker Details

A dedicated display stand is included and forms an important part of the model, allowing the moving mechanisms to operate correctly while presenting the aircraft in flight position. Sticker sheets and installation instructions are also included to complete the classic airline-inspired appearance.

Rather than focusing only on the aircraft’s exterior, the design recreates the engineering ideas behind the original concept. The variable-sweep wings, drooping nose, and landing gear are linked through a hand-operated mechanical system, turning the model into both an aviation display piece and an exploration of the B2707’s extraordinary design.
