Behind the Build: A Tribute to Medieval Majesty
Step into a world of noble knights, towering stone walls, and hidden passageways beneath the castle floor. MOC-131299 isn’t just any building block — it’s a massive, fully modular Gothic fortress built to transport collectors and brick fans straight into the heart of the medieval era. With its incredible level of detail and rich storytelling elements, this one-of-a-kind creation is a must-have centerpiece for any serious MOC enthusiast.
Designed by the talented Sir Perceval, a notable designer in the realm of MOC building, this medieval castle brings the drama and beauty of the Middle Ages to life. His vision? To blend fantasy and historical realism into a modular, highly detailed structure — and he delivered big time, using over 113,000 pieces to do it.
Modular Brilliance
Standing atop 28 large 32x32 baseplates, the structure spans multiple levels, buildings, and even underground passageways. Every element—from towering palace walls to dimly lit prison cells—has been carefully thought through, making it not only an architectural feat but also a fully immersive medieval world in brick form.
Unlike many static large-scale models, this castle is designed with complete modularity in mind. It consists of:
28 Baseplate Modules (labeled A1 – G4);
23 Building Modules (H01 – H23), including towers, taverns, stables, a market square, dungeons, and a grand palace.
Tower
And this is the super cool MOC-131234 H08 Owl Tower module, it’s got a lot going on. It’s built with those classic gray bricks to give it that old stone look, and the textures make it feel weathered and solid. The tower’s made up of three main levels, stacked up nicely, each one getting a bit smaller as it goes up.
At the bottom, there’s a strong base with arched doors and tiny windows—probably where the guards hang out or store stuff. Then you’ve got this awesome wooden staircase wrapping around the outside, leading up to the next levels. The middle section has some blue banners and arched windows that give it a nice medieval vibe.
Up top, there’s an open lookout area with a cool brown roof and a flag waving at the very top. You can totally imagine this being part of a castle wall or used as a lookout post—it just has that classic fantasy feel.
Market and Coutyards with Well
Since each module is a self-contained masterpiece, whether you’re admiring the medieval towers, exploring the wine cellar, or moving troops into the barracks, there’s a story unfolding in every corner. Plus, modular and removable floors mean you can lift off layers to explore rich interiors, from libraries and dining rooms to armories and royal chambers.
Library
So this is another really cozy, medieval-style library module.
Looking at it from a top-down view, the room’s packed with nice little details—textures, warm colors, and a solid layout. Right in the middle, there are two reading desks with scrolls laid out and white feather quills, like someone just stepped away from writing. The floor uses a mix of tan and brown tiles that go really well with the deep red shelves and rustic furniture. Over in the corner, there’s a staircase going up—makes you wonder what’s upstairs, maybe a hidden room or more books. There are a few wall lamps and tiny extras like ink bottles and parchment that really bring it to life. That curved window on the right side gives it an open, inviting feel. It’s the kind of build that works great for storytelling scenes or fantasy setups—just really atmospheric and fun to look at.
It’s like owning a medieval diorama with hundreds of storytelling possibilities — every time you rearrange the modules, a new narrative awaits.
Secrets Beneath the Castle: Dungeons, Gold Mines & More
Sir Perceval’s castle doesn’t stop at surface-level splendor. Hidden below the palace grounds lies a fully connected basement system that includes:
A side entrance (G1) leading through a corridor (F1);
A torture chamber (E1) connected to the prison block (H06);
Secret passageways, antechambers, and a mine filled with gold;
A treasure chamber (E3) accessed through a hidden door;
A staircase leading straight to the palace kitchen;
Below are some pictures of the modules:
This is absolutely one of those builds that really gets collectors hyped—not just because it looks awesome, but because it's got so much personality. The little touches, the textures, the way it feels like a real old tower—it all just works. Whether you're building out a whole medieval scene or just want a piece that pops on your shelf, stuff like this totally brings that classic fantasy vibe.
And hey, if you’re thinking about gifting it—go for it. Whether it’s for a fellow collector, a medieval fan, or someone just getting into custom builds, this kind of set makes an awesome present.
It’s unique, detailed, and way more personal than something off the shelf. Plus, for collectors, it’s one of those pieces that really adds something special to a display.
And the best part? You can build it together with family or friends—it’s a great way to spend time, boost creativity, and get those hands and brains working. Whether you're keeping it or sharing the fun, this set’s a total win, and yeah—definitely a set you'll wanna show off.
What are you waiting for? Just brick by brick, a vivid castle will comes to your life.
