DarthDesigner developed MOC-192566 as one of the designer’s largest naval projects, recreating CVN-78 at 1:300 scale with particular attention to the carrier’s overall proportions, flight deck, hull structure, and aviation display.

The original design was developed in multiple configurations, including versions with and without the underwater hull and aircraft complement. The LesDiy edition combines the full-hull carrier with approximately 13 aircraft for a complete display-oriented build.

Historical Background

The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) is the first ship of the Gerald R. Ford class and is named after Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States. Its keel was laid in 2009, the ship was christened in 2013, and it entered U.S. Navy service in 2017. CVN-78 represents a new generation of American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier design.
